I have 2 otherwise identical carburetors (Winfields), one was an earlier Aluminum casting which is (as far as I can tell) bulletoroof, it's twin (which is sized for a larger engine) is cast tin-zinc alloy (eg "pot metal") and it's as fragile as a kitten... breaks my heart, but it's what we have.

You cannot cut "tempered, laminated" glass without making a disaster... I just ordered one off Amazon, and they have a replacement blade pack of IIRC 6 as well as a rotary blade option...

I wish I'd known about this decades ago!! Wheee!!!

Agreed! This is a timely tip - certainly beats the "ink and fingernail scissors" method!
