Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
I looked through my original 1909-10 Locomobile Service and Repair Manual to see what I could determine about the gas cap differences between a Model L and a Model M. With much study I could find plenty of Locomobile part numbers for a wide variety of mechanical parts but nothing for the fuel delive...

Hello Paul,
I will check to see what my scant literature may tell me about the interchange of gasoline caps.

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
Here is a picture of a 1913 Locomobile 48 gasoline cap provided by another forum poster. Does anyone know if it is the same as would be found on a 1909-10 Locomobile Model L?

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
I am desirous to get an idea for the gasoline cap. I will build what I need or get a casting, but I do want to end up withas would have been from the factory. Can anyone share a picture from a four cylinder car or an early 6 cylinder car, (Locomobile)?

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
I have got one nice side shot of a new Locomobile Model L, at the factory, I can see no stripping on it at all. But that only tells me that the particular automobile in the picture may not be ready for release and shipment yet. What are your thoughts and ideas?

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
Nice story you added! Can anyone else ad pictures of an original 4 cylinder Locomobile, (any model)? I am wanting to verify several small details, on my automobile as well as to get some ideas of what was done to the paint job to make them great.

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
I have been scrounging around to see if I can determine the degree of original paint striping that would have been found on my type Locomobile when new. That said, a while back I noticed a couple of original pictures of a 1911 or 1912 Locomobile Model L Toy Tonneau and bought them. Now the study beg...

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
Hello Pete, Good idea you suggested. I do know if the starter has been properly rebuilt and it still will not crank as it should, the amps are not flowing. Jeff will get this issue resolved and away he will go. That is surely a good "TIP" or advice for the day.

Re: 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau, Rebuild Improvements for Reliability
Nice update Jeff! awwhhh, If we didn't have a hard spot every once in a while none of us would be very tough! Lucky for you it was just an oil leak! I have been in a similar position except it was one of those pronounced "knocks" from the belly of the engine. My remedy was not pretty! On the slow cr...

Here is my "Tip" of the day. I just received from a gracious friend a cope of the 1908 Locomobile book. If anyone needs any information that would be in the 1908 manual, please ask.

Hello Jeff,
I will check with Bob's shop. I have used them for restoration and set-up work for a speedo on another project. Did the do your faces restoration also? Would you share a photo of one of your instrument faces?
