SOUTH MICHIGAN MOTORISTS
The South Michigan Motorists region of the HCCA was founded in 1997 when recently relocated Guy Zaninovich asked all local HCCA members with interest in forming a local region to attend a meeting at Dan and Susan Walter's home.
Guy Zaninovich was elected the president of the newly formed South Michigan Motorists Region. Guy held the president position from 1997 until 2003 when the Ford centennial activities took more of his time. Chuck Sharpe became the president of the region and is still currently holding the position. The South Michigan Motorists sponsors one day tours. The biggest event that the South Michigan Motorists are involved in is co-sponsoring the Lansing to Dearborn Run which precedes the Old Car Festival at The Henry Ford. The Lansing to Dearborn run is also sponsored by the Snapper's touring club of the AACA. The Lansing to Dearborn Run was started in 1982 as a Curve Dash Olds tour by Dick Neller. The next year it was opened to all pre 1915 one and two cylinder cars..
