Rushmore Headlight Glass Question

Postby ahovey » Tue Apr 17, 2018 4:31 pm

Does anyone know the style of glass used in Rushmore headlamps, I have a 12" lamp with 7 venting holes. It was my understanding that all Rushmore's had plano-convex lens strips about 2" wide. I recently found an article from 1909 Motor Age Magazine that make it seem that plano-convex (multiplex diverging lens) was new to 1910. Is there anyway to identify the year the lamp was from? And does anyone know the specific dimensions of the bevel or curve of the plano convex pieces?

Attached are both pictures of the lamp and article.
