Re: 1920 Packard Model E

If someone used a sealer on both sides of the pan gasket, it could be glued on. Try tapping a wood chisel in the crack between the pan and crankcase. Work around the pan in multiple places a little at a time.

Re: Starting 1911 Buick 33

Have you tried priming by putting a 1/2 tea spoon of gas in each cylinder ? I usually flood the Schebler and prime the cylinders on my IHC before starting. See if you can get it to pop of fire a few times.

Pretty sure its not IHC. All IHC engines of 1907 were OHV with exposed rocker arms and push rods.

Use Google images. Search 1906 Cadillac. There are pictures of the tank strapped/mounted on the outside of the car frame.

Re: Still looking for body wood repair methods for 1912 Ford

West 655 gflex comes out of tube like clear toothpaste. Mix the 2 parts together and the joint is stronger than the wood. I used it to bond brake lining (From Mc Master Carr) to brake shoes

Re: Still looking for body wood repair methods for 1912 Ford

if your wood is dry rotted and funky you can paint it or coat it with Kwik poly and it will become strong as wood again. West makes a 2 part gel adhesive that glues wood back together again. http://www.kwikpolyllc.com/#Applications https://www.walmart.com/ip/West-System-655-8-G-Flex-Thickened-Epoxy-...

Re: Anti-Freeze of water in the summer

My experience is that stop leaks seal up better with water than with antifreeze. I suggest you run water for Labor day and back to antifreeze soon after.

Re: Who builds wood wheels, west coast or other

Stutzman built two wood wheels for my 1920 IHC truck and later put 2 1/2 inch hard rubber tires on my IHC highwheeler. I was very happy with their work.

Re: Holsman 1908 Buggy

John Maybe a Holsman owner will see your post and respond. Until then maybe we can test the circuit with an ohmmeter. It looks like there are 3 positions for each of the two brass contactors. I might guess that the brass contactor would complete a circuit between the two outside points on the switch...

Re: Holsman Buggy 1908 Electrics

Most of the older 2 cylinder engines fired both cylinders at the top of the stroke, that is both pistons came to top dead center at the same time. The cylinder on compression fires and the cylinder on exhaust doesn’t care that there is a spark. There should be a timer on the Holsman engine. Get 2 mo...
