Re: Making a Buick spring bumper holder

Making a Buick spring bumper holder
At sometime in my 2cyl Buick's life the spring clamp ends on one side of the rear axle were twisted off and they could no longer be used without discarding the rebound bumper holder. There were just enough threads to get a nut on that way. Bmpr1.jpg I thought welding a piece of pipe or tubing to a p...

Re: Remembering Mike Roberts
My first experience with HCCA and the Gazette was a cover with a high wheeler in a barn. It captured everything I could imagine about a horseless carriage. After joining, each issue with his cover photos was a treasure. I got to sit across from him at a dinner banquet on a tour and he had the most w...

Re: Tuning a 1902 Rambler

Re: Making some Buick brakes
Thanks Peter. I had a local shop line them I'm not sure what it was but it looked like what the vendors sell in Model A and T kits. That shop no longer does these.

Making some Buick brakes
The rear axle brakes on my 1907 Model G Buick were cobbled together such that they were dangerous. I tried to improve the mechanical advantage but couldn't improve the makeshift parts. I happened upon some Buick patent drawings for a different model but thought it might work. Scaling the drawing to ...

Re: 1915 Maxwell Ignition question
My '15 Maxwell has a transformer coil mounted inside the frame. The two wires may be meant to go to it. This discussion describes it.

Re: Did You Drive Your Pre-'16 Today?
We toured with the VMCCA in Logan, Utah last week. Our "1909" T and a 1913 Hudson were the only brass Era cars out of 90+ registered. It was a great time but tough to keep up with cars in the 50's to 80's.
