Early DB ring & Pinon straight to spiral--when?

The rear axle under my May '16 DB has a damaged straight-cut ring & pinon gear. Just took the cover off my "spare" rear axle, and although it looks in magnificently good condition, the gears are spiral cut, and the housing is notched to clear the ring gear--factory-looking notch. that large round piece with a gear on it on the tailgate with the sprocket things looks like a Dodge Brother's Starter-Generator.

Looks a lot like a Maytag washing machine motor. But that's just a guess.

I know what the handles should look like, and decades ago they were available (same handle used on a lot of different cars); looking for who might have them nowadays. I should be able to take a picture this Sunday--IF I remember the camera!!
