Re: Cadillac Spindle Failure

Hi Gill

I finally got your notes posted on the Early Cadillac group forum as well. I have been surprised by the small amount of follow up it has gathered so far.

Re: Cadillac Spindle Failure

Hi Gill Glad to hear that you and your wife are OK after the Cadillac accident. I would suggest that you also bring you post to the Early Cadillac Group (Yahoo) where I expect it would trigger a good discussion. In the meantime, when I was restoring my ’05 Cadillac I gave some thought to the front w...

Re: 1922 Studebaker roadster

HI David I'm assuming that you are trying to take off a removable head with a head gasket and that the main problem is that the head is stuck on the head bolts/studs. Hi Ken Here is a bit of history of what I have been using and what a friend found out recently when trying to find the oil that I am using. I have been using Shell Valvata J460 steam cylinder / gear oil in a 1914 Hudson transmission and rear end. It is yellow metal "safe". It was the recommended lub...

Re: 1920 Cadillac starter

Hi I think you need to get a copy of a Delco system maintenance and de-bugging guidelines. Some good instructions can be found in the Dykes and Page manuals in the 1920 period. The Delco system is complicated enough there is an entire chapter on it. The Dykes manual for 1920 can be found on Google b...
