Re: "Toy Tonneau" ?
Baby Tonneau, Pony Tonneau, Toy Tonneau, and Demi Tonneau all mean the same; "smaller back end". Al, you are right in your thinking.

Re: "Toy Tonneau" ?
Demi Tonneau. That's another one.... Demi is french for "lesser". Yes, you already have it. Touring with a smaller back seating area holding only 2 people. A larger back seating area would hold 3 people or more. Our 1911 Stanley steamer with its jump seats, holds up to 5 people in the back.

Re: "Toy Tonneau" ?
Toy Tonneau.. Toy is small. Tonneau is the back of a vehicle. So what you have is a small back area of the vehicle. As in it only seats two and no more. Baby Tonneau also means the same. Seating only for two in the back.

Re: 1909 Lambert rear axle lubrication question with pictures
On the axle threads. It is an easy weld up and to cut new threads. I have done it many times. My concern is the rest of the axle. That area looks pitted and distressed in the photo. This distressed area is not an easily welded up without causing stress and warpage. If it isn't as bad as it looks in ...

Re: Valve lash on 1909 Kissel Kar
Just to be safe, I will set our 1909 Kissel Kar's valve lash at 10 and 10. The car runs real cool and any more valve lash than that would be wasted valve lift. Thank you Ron for chiming in. Our Stanley steamers are fun too. Been into those for 33 years and I have most all of the answers for them. We...

Re: Valve lash on 1909 Kissel Kar
Ron, In reading the 1909 manual for setting the valves on engines of that era, the valves are not supposed to start opening until an establish degree of the crankshaft for that valve. Once the degree of rotation is found for that one valve on the scale by rotating the crankshaft, the valve tapped is...

Valve lash on 1909 Kissel Kar
The valve lash on our 1909 Kissel Kar ranges from 0.012" to 0.026". It is a 4 cylinder F head 50 H.P. engine. I have read the directions on setting the valve lash and it is spelled out that valves are set to open at a certain degree of the crankshaft rotation for each valve. Rather than putting a de...

After doing so, I was in our local parts store that has been in business for 90 years and they said that all of the Spicer joint parts were still available new. So, go to you local parts store that has been in business for 30+...

Yes, I see that that they say that they have all of the concave mirror sizes. I will check with them next month after they get back from their vacation. Thank you for the information. This information will help many of us in the need of the unusual horseless carriage part.
