Do you have a good hardware store nearby? Take it there and they'll tell you. There should also be some pipe fittings and bolts there to test fit.

Re: 1915 Metz Model 22 - Engine
Jerry, you've no doubt discovered that Metz used the long-reach 1/2" pipe thread plugs like the Champion 32. A Model T Ford plug (like the Champion X) will fit, but it is not long enough. These long-reach plugs were also used on stationary engines. They are no longer made, but they do turn up if you...

Fitting Brake Lining
The old shops used a "radius grinder" to get brake linings to match the drum. One trick I read on the AACA Forums: I got the arc on my brake shoes to match the drum by getting a roll of sticky back sandpaper from my local hardware store and cut a length of it to match the inside circumference of the...

"Toy Tonneau" ?
What is a "toy tonneau"? I often see this term, but not sure what it means.

Re: Installing Tight-Fitting Rear Wheels?
I'm still restoring the Overland, and the engine is not yet installed. I have a litttle blog on the AACA Forum. I have more free time now, so more things are getting done, at least on the cars.

Re: Installing Tight-Fitting Rear Wheels?
Thanks for the tips. I did finally get the wheels on. I just surmized that the key was lined up correctly and then turned the wheel while pushing. I think that allowed it to slip between the brake linings, etc.

Installing Tight-Fitting Rear Wheels?
Any tips for installing rear wheels? My 1915 Overland has inner and outer brake shoes between which the drums must pass. Also, there is the axle key, the oil seal and the roller bearings. Plus, the wheels are heavy!

I like the "electric starter" connected to the crank shaft. Is it just a dc motor with a lot of torque? How is it connected?

I suggest posting this on the Willys/Overland Forum. They have a "For Sale" section if you scroll down. Also, a photo would be helpful.

I like Evercoat Slick-Sand and Eastwood Contour Polyester Primer-Surfacer. Both products have a heavy build and sand easily without clogging sandpaper. I finish with 400 grit paper before applying the top coat.

There is also "anti-tarnish silver cloth" used to prevent oxidation in silverware. I'm not sure if this works for brass, however.

Re: 1909 Lambert A3 restoration question
An interesting project on a friction-drive car. Eaton Detroit Spring is a well-known aftermarket spring maker. Another is Coil Spring Specialties in Kansas and Spring Works in Santa Rosa, CA. They are all capable of duplicating your spring, especially if you have one to copy. Another (perhaps cheape...

I have also used "Gaskets-To-Go" for custom-made gaskets. They make custom gaskets, rubber parts, springs, etc. in low quantities. I've been pleased with their work and prices.
