Rushmore lamp information needed

Does anyone have experience with or literature regarding Rushmore headlamps? I have two different size Rushmore headlamp sets, one size is nearly 11" OD and the second is nearly 10" OD. Both of these sets have serial numbers stamped into the front of the chimney, just behind the door. Does the "A" o...

Re: Top rest or Top saddle......what to do

Hello Phil, Thanks for your referrals for top bows. My top assembly does not use sockets. It is the type that has solid iron, in place of sockets, that will bolt directly to the bow. I will need to build or buy 48 T strap bolts for those connections. These bolts will be similar to a wood fellow keep...

Tips needed for building up a two man top

I am nearing the stage of building the two man top for a 1909 Locomobile Toy Tonneau. My question is; What is the most original, for the bigger cars, a top rest with leather straps (as in Model T Fords) or a more sophisticated top saddle that supports and secures each of the four bows (with a clamp ...

My question is; What is the most original for the bigger cars, a top rest with leather straps (as in Model T Fords) or a more sophisticated top saddle that supports and secures each of the four bows (with a clamp device)? Re: Large Brass Headlight Identification

This lamp looks to be from an American-LaFrance fire truck from the early teens until the later teens, when they switched from the G/D lamps to the Vesta drum style. I am sure other makes also used this lamp but I am not sure who that would have been. Does this lamp have a flat lens or convex? The f...

I thought I would share a picture of what we have been dealing with in the high desert of Utah. Most everything is put to bed for the winter. All of the early cars are in the garage. This poor Alvis gets to sleep in the snow.

White Automobile Questions

I have not found any information about a White Club for antique autos. Does one or even a registry exist? I have a few questions about White automobiles, gas not steam.

Here is a picture of the Klaxon horn I am working on at present. Anyone have a vibrating plate for sale or have production figures for this style horn?

Early Electric Motor Driven Klaxon Horn question

I have a couple of early Klaxon Electric horns. One has a serial number of 1781 with the second horn a serial of 93596. I also have a couple of early teens projects. I already plan to use the lower serial number on the older car but it would be nice if someone here has information that would suggest...

I had the thought that the frame member, built from typical angle iron would have the vert. leg longer that the orizontal leg. I agree, without any experience, 1/4" would probably be suitable.

What is the general flange dimension on early automobiles that use angle iron for the frame rails? Also what is the thickness?

Hey, that sounds like a nice technology. If you get your tech paper complete, I would like to read and see if it could be used on my Locomobile.

"Finding Neverland" Brass cars shown in the movie

Hi Friends, My wife and I watched the new movie last night, "Finding Neverland" with Johnny Depp. Not a bad movie, but I, being a brass vintage guy, took note of at least three early cars. One was a short clip of an early Rolls-Royce, several scenes with a 1909? Mitchell and one background shot of a...

Anyone need Pierce-Arrow or Locomobile Data tags?

I have a need for one each of the above listed tags and have a decent pattern to copy. I am also making up early GM diesel (Detroit Diesel) engine brass ID tags and also a WW2 Navy equipment ID tag. If you or any of your buddies need any of these tags, now is the time to hold up your hand and get in...

Early Solar Brass

:?: Hi, Can anyone help me learn about the model numbering on the Solar Brass lamps. What relationship did any of the manufactorers have with each other. I am particularly interested in the Model 41-A sidelamps. If you are well versed I am also interested in Grey & Davis stuff. Hoping to try my hand...
