Re: Come to a Creepy-Crawly!

On another thread (actually under automotive discussions as opposed to tour discussions) is a link to a video of the Creepy Crawly Tour in England. I must say, the video is wonderful! I highly recommend you view it. http://www.youtube.com/embed/YL8Zc-uHSS8 It also brought up something that has bothe...

Re: UK Early Car Tour Video

One thing I have noticed for many years, and it shows in this and other videos of tours (ralleyes?) in England. Many more of their really early automobiles are extensively driven. Their London to Brighten tour is limited to 1904 and earlier. The Creepy Crawly appears to allow newer ones and twos, ye...

Re: Replacing Rubber Valve Stems With Metal

A good read and pictures. A couple comments I would add. Low pressure testing is a very good idea before mounting into a tire. However, I have found that sometimes they will not show a leak at low pressure, but will leak when over that low pressure. Given that some of our horseless carriages are not...

Re: UK Early Car Tour Video

THAT was just TOO fantastic!! The plot was a little hard to follow, however full of action and pathos, triumph and defeat. The Music was wonderful (era piano rolls!). Thank you Phil. I thoroughly enjoyed those eleven plus minutes! I have GOT to get working on my gasoline carriage! (A couple projects...

This sounds like a great idea! I wish it would be closer to me, though. But one never knows. It might become doable for me?

Re: Twombly

CONGRATULATIONS!! I hope you give it a beautiful restoration and then drive it on lots of HCCA tours. I have always liked cycle cars and would love to have one. I doubt I ever will, although I got close to buying a nicely restored one about ten years ago. A creative artisan should be able to complet...

Re: Video of Orange Empire Canyon Tour

Thank you Bill H for sharing these videos! Glad to see you here.
It looks like a great tour, great cars, nice roads. Can you tell me what year the Locomobile is? It is close to a friend's '06.
Thanks again! These should encourage others to tour more.

By the way. Did you know that the original "Mona Lisa" is not painted on canvas? It is painted on wood.

Re: TV show casting restorations and custom jobs!

LOL! (Laughing Out Loud! for those less versed in modern vernacular) (And by less versed, I know less than a dozen of those text short-hands) I love "Dogs Playing Poker"! Especially the original series by C M Coolidge. I have seen more of them redone in velvet than I have "Mona Lisa". (Okay, I admit...

Re: Twombly

Always remember. It may sometimes be sadly, but "rare" does not equal "valuable" in a dollar sense. That is a valuable piece of history and should be lovingly restored, driven, and shown as such. But it will never be worth the dollars of many cars that are much more common. It likely will not cost a...

Re: TV show casting restorations and custom jobs!

While I am a staunch defender of individual rights, I am also substantially saddened by the fact that far too many people today do not know the difference between Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and a velvet copy. Most of television, and certainly shows like this, contribute greatly to the "dumbing do...

jeepers,
The pictures are great! Thank you.
The only Yale I had seen before was smaller than that one. That is an incredible car! But then so is the REO next to it.
The Renault and Maxwell look nice also. Is the blue runabout your Buick? The car looks beautiful.

I do not know if they have it, but the first place I would check is Restoration Supply. Try this link; http://www.restorationstuff.com/ They have a lot of things that are not listed online. They always seem very helpful. The next thing would be to check through the EMF Register. Another thing would ...
