I feel the same way, and I don't know any of the candidates. I believe the law regarding non-profit groups requires elected officers, however, so we can pass on voting or follow the laws of chance. The good news is that there are so many people willing to contribute their time to our club. I'm happy...

The Brighton Run in 1928

A good film of the London-to-Brighton cars running in 1928: http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=16852 This site contains old footage from British Pathe newsreels, much of it unedited. You can search under various car names (Austin, Rolls Royce, etc.) to see some interesting things. For some re...

You can get fonts for the Ford Model T : http://www.modeltford.com/item/SL-F4.aspx

Perhaps they can be adapted to your car. Otherwise, I suggest you post a photo and dimensions here. You can still find these at car flea markets like Chichasha and Hershey.

Pioneer Cyclecar

According to The Standard Catalog of American Cars, the Pioneer cyclecar was made only in 1914. That was the big year for cyclecars in the U.S. The Model T and shoddy construction put most out of business rapidly. It had an air-cooled V Twin and belt drive. Interestingly, there were four other Pione...

! & 2 Cylinder Video

I recorded a short video yesterday of the cars on a 1 & 2 cylinder tour. They stopped at the Kinzer, PA Thresherman's Reunion, a neat steam and engine show.

Spring Repair

I had a broken leaf on my 1921 Peugeot. Eaton told me they can't match every size spring, so I had to settle for a somewhat wider one and grind it down. I never did find anyone who could make every size to match the old. Eaton has an informative web site. They may be biased, but they do not recommen...

Clarkmobile

The Standard Catalog lists Clarkmobile in Lansing, MI in 1903-1904 and has a photo of the car. Albert Clark (& Son) made buggies from 1865 and introduced their car in 1903. "They Go and Go Right" was the slogan. Their car was a single-cylinder, 7hp, 72"WB. Mr. Clark quit the firm in 1905 and made th...

Thanks for the replies! It seems the Peugeots used a strap-type acetylene tank bracket with a metal base. I have only two fuzzy pictures. One is an original Peugeot ad drawing, the other a blow-up of a small photo I found on the www. Anyone ever seen this type bracket? I got an original tank with my...

Yes, the HCCA Forum is pretty slow! The MTFCA (Model T Club) and AACA Forums are quite active. Either the HCCA-ers don't use computers, or they post on other sites. How could we get more action on our Forum? I'm fairly new to restoring the old cars, so I have lots of questions. Sometimes I'll phrase...

Has anyone any photos of how acetylene tanks mount to the running board? Mine was attached with leather belts, which I doubt is correct.

1912 Renault

Could you post a photo of the car and one of how it may have originally appeared? Is this picture close? Since you are constructing a repro body and not saving anything original, the choice is your's. I'd vote for restoring what the car as it was, and this would have the best resale appeal. Certainl...
