A remarkable undertaking is in the works ....
That - if successful - will see a 1904 Ford Model B participate
in the 2020 New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run.
A collaborative effort of dedicated - passionate - average folks
are making this possible ....

Last Monday The Model B fired and caught on three cylinders.
I got it all on several videos.
Next Sunday or Monday it will probably run on all four.
Ten months have passed and so much has been done ....

On Monday around 11:00 am - the 1904 Model B caught on a compression stroke and ran on all four cylinders.
Kim Dobbins is on the left and Don Skille on the right.
They were the principal parties responsible over the past year that made this happen.

I like the "electric starter" connected to the crank shaft. Is it just a dc motor with a lot of torque? How is it connected?

Don & Kim took a fractional horsepower motor that has a rating of 30 rpm and modified it to the crank.

So ....
The 1904 Model B was re=assembled completely.
The original transmission was repaired and re-installed.
All the linkage was re-attached and a temporary seat was made for the maiden voyage.
And on Thursday June 18th, 2020 history was made when the only known 1904 Ford Model B
in existence with an intact running gear as it left Piquette ,,,,
Started by hand = drove down the road - ran thru low & high speed - stopped.
A couple days later the restored largely original body was put back on the car.
For those who have Facebook accounts - if you are logged in to Facebook - you can
visit my page which is public - click on the " Photos " album - select the Model B album
and view images and videos documenting the two year journey:

I left Southern California on July 17th, 2020.
The " Friendship Ford " slowly made it's way East along I-40 making stops in:
Flagstaff - Winslow - Holbrook Arizona
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Then Northeast along I-44 making a stop in:
Tulsa, Oklahoma
The East along I-70 making a stop in:
St. Louis, Missouri
At these stops folks received a talk about The 1904 Ford Model B in general and this car in particular.
Final talk was on Saturday, July 25th, 2020 in the parking lot of the final destination.
After the talk(s) there were photo opportunities ....
