Hi HCCA Members!

I'm working on an amazing TV series for History Channel called Counting Cars, and I'm reaching out to your organization in hopes that someone would be interested in being casted and needing their car customized or restored for our show! Counting Cars is an automobile customization and restoration show spun off from the highly rated Pawn Stars, featuring Danny Koker and his shop, Count's Kustoms.

We are gearing up for our third season, and if interested, we'd love to have you help spread the word by sharing the casting flyer I'm attaching as an email blast to your group or anyone you think would be great for our show!

Happy to answer any additional questions you may have, and looking forward to anyone interested in being casted for Counting Cars!

Best,
Amy

Is this a joke? Do you realize that the members of the HCCA are about the last people on earth who would be even slightly interested in the sort of tacky modifications that show (and all like them) specialize in? This is a serious case of barking up the wrong tree.
And... the word is "cast", not "casted", which isn't even a word, much less the proper one.

Ok, well I'm just reaching out in case anyone has friends that are car enthusiasts and would be interested. If so please email countingcarscasting@leftfieldpictures.com

Thank you!

Amy,

Apologies to you for some of the curmudgeons on this board. I'm sure there will be more than just Joseph. Certainly they are entitled to their opinion, but they don't speak for everyone. I like Danny and the show. I've seen him look at and drive authentic antique cars on Pawn Stars, and he seems to enjoy them. Regardless of whether you like what he does or not, he is undeniably a talented craftsman that loves cars. Variety makes the world go round folks!

And Joseph, if you're going to start being the grammar police on this website, you may not have any spare time to work on your old cars!

Really? Well, I am not in the television business, nor would I want to be. However, sadly, there seem to be many people that take what they see on television seriously. With that in mind, it would seem that those engaged in that business ought to hold themselves to a higher than average standard. Your employers have every right to do and say whatever they want... they can chop and twist and vandalize any cars they want as long as they own them or the owners are amenable. But, I have the same right to say that I find their antics gratuitously offensive.

While I am a staunch defender of individual rights, I am also substantially saddened by the fact that far too many people today do not know the difference between Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and a velvet copy. Most of television, and certainly shows like this, contribute greatly to the "dumbing down of America". They could at least pretend to explain the difference between restoration of an antique, and building a whatchacallit.
Just call me a curmudgeon.

Da Vinci? Didn't he do that one with the dogs playing cards? I love that!

LOL! (Laughing Out Loud! for those less versed in modern vernacular) (And by less versed, I know less than a dozen of those text short-hands)

I love "Dogs Playing Poker"! Especially the original series by C M Coolidge. I have seen more of them redone in velvet than I have "Mona Lisa". (Okay, I admit it. I had to look up the artists name for that one, but I did know about the original series.)
Thank you Jeff D for your contribution!

By the way. Did you know that the original "Mona Lisa" is not painted on canvas? It is painted on wood.
