I met Doug last year at Bakersfield Swap in April.

He is moving from Alameda, CA to Leceister, NC.

I brought out his 1903 Dyke and 1908 REO
along with a mess of shop tools & equipment.

At loadout last Friday .....

Dropping off in Asheville, North Carolina

Doug had lined up an area towing service.

I gave them a call when I was a couple days away but they wanted nothing
to do with the cars .....

I made some calls and found a great small family owned & operated
local towing service ( father and son ).

Doug had sent some shop equipment with cars - those came off the trailer first ....

There are perhaps (12) Stanley Steamer Mountain Wagons
remaining in private ownership - not all are running.

Recently I was honored to transport two more.

That makes (4) total that I have hauled ....?

Love the Mountain Wagons! When I was a kid I was lucky enough to be at Harrah's collection with my dad and his friend who worked as a buyer for Mr. Harrah. We were allowed behind the ropes and in to the restoration shop areas, and one time they were getting ready to test drive the Stanley Mountain Wagon, and we got to go for a great ride through Reno-Sparks! It was awesome.
