Hello Site Admin. Thanks for your post and suggestion. However, I am not looking for a part to purchase. I requested a "tip" for someone that has an original Trophy radiator ornament so I can ask a question or two. (Not to purchase) My request for a "tip" still stands. Who has or knows of an original Locomobile Trophy Radiator ornament? I have a couple of questions for you.

Understand; that's why I didn't delete your post for violating the No Ads policy. The Classifieds get a lot more visitors and I think you are more likely to get a response there. Good luck

As we Horseless Carriage enthusiasts all get to deal with "Brass" and brass issues, I have entered an update to a previous Brass Repair and Polishing thread over on the HCCA"Automotive Discussion" forum. You will find several helpful "Tips" and "Hints" there.

Its been a while since I posted any new updates. Imaging that! I got to take my turn with that darn Covid-19 thing. I have been under the weather for about 1 month but am just now feeling like I can crawl out of the house, get some vitamin D from the sun and have the energy to do anything. I am still not close to full steam yet. My tip this time is not auto related but encourages everyone to savor the good health they have while they have it, you never know when your health can change everything including how you look at this fine antique hobby we all revere. I do have a few new pictures I will post that relate to the Locomobile project and solicit your thoughts regarding what to do. I have a nice pair of Warner instruments for this project. One is a Warner Autometer, (speedo) and a Warner brass clock of the same vintage. They will/would work nicely. The Autometer is fully restored while the clock still needs the touch of the masters hand. Next, I had the opportunity to buy a Locomobile script 4" Jones tachometer, in excellent condition. I thought, hmmm, lets test the market and see if I could locate a matching 4" Jones speedo. As luck would have it, I did locate and purchase just such a thing. I will post pictures of each of these Jones instruments and ask for your thoughts on which should be used on the 1909 Locomobile.

I am wondering what advice might be shared, in this case, as to which set of instruments should be used, the Jones or the Warner.

Hello Pete,
I am wondering about the tach drive mechanism also. I have seen several early brass and nickle era trucks that have a nice small belt drive with the proper pulley sizes to correctly drive the tack. If I can't think of anything better I would probably design and fit a small belt drive unit that would then allow me to attach a typical cable.
