1920 Packard Model E

Post by GasWorksGarage » Mon Dec 17, 2018 8:43 am

We got in a Packard Model E truck that has sat for decades. I am trying to remove the oil pan. I have all the nuts and bolts off I can see and it still will not budge.
Anyone have any insight?

Thanks in advance.

If someone used a sealer on both sides of the pan gasket, it could be glued on. Try tapping a wood chisel in the crack between the pan and crankcase. Work around the pan in multiple places a little at a time.
Please refrain from restoring the survivors

A thin blade like a paint scraper can be driven in to separate the gasket into 2 thinner sheets thus feeing the pan.
