Spicer universal joints

Post by Karl Hamson » Wed May 22, 2019 4:04 am

Need to rebuild the u joints on 1919 Essex 4 cylinder. Has anyone figured out a rebuild for these using modern need.e bearings or alternatively is there a source for the old style crosses and bearings
Thanks

I rebuilt the Spicer universal joints in our 1909 Kissel Kar baby tonneu. After doing so, I was in our local parts store that has been in business for 90 years and they said that all of the Spicer joint parts were still available new. So, go to you local parts store that has been in business for 30+ years and they will have parts books with the Spicer joints still available. Sure beats machining out all of the new parts for them like I did
