what is good motor for 1901 Ford Replica and place to buy

Post by gpercoco » Sun Mar 01, 2020 3:37 pm

i have a nice 1901 Ford replica. i am just wondering what is a typical engine. The one in there has too many issues...
Should I get Briggs&Stratton? Honda?
should i get 3-4HP? 6.5HP?
how a bout a belt drive centrifugal clutch?
I'd like to get a battery and have electric start - is that a good idea or mistake?

HELP - i am more of a body and interior person - but in a past life used to be a landscaper, and had swapped motors and done basic things - never touched a carb though! they frighten me! :-)

Most guys get an old electric start lawn tractor and use the engine out of that.

Get a 8- 20 hp
