12th Annual Skagit-Snohomish Fall Tour in Port Townsend, WA

The 12th Annual Skagit-Snohomish Fall Tour will be September 13-17, 2009 and is based in Port Townsend, Washington. http://www.ptguide.com . This is the Sunday through Thursday, one week after the Labor Day weekend. Just a quick note about the club’s original decision to hold the tour at this time: here in the Northwest, there’s a pretty good chance of good weather, the summer tourist crowds have thinned out and the hotel accommodations (and rates) have opened new options for tour locations.

As an example, this coming fall tour starts on the ending day of the Wooden Boat Festival http://www.woodenboat.org/festival/ in Port Townsend. There are few, if any rooms available prior to our visit but since we’re coming just after the summer rush, we not only have a great hotel, but negotiated discount rates as well.

Subsequent Fall Tour Updates will include more information about how we’ll be able to enjoy the Wooden Boat Festival while we’re in town. Our hotel will be the Harborside Inn, on the waterfront, in downtown Port Townsend. Go here http://www.harborside-inn.com for more details. We’ve reserved a large block of rooms, so there’s no need to make reservations at this time. Just to give you an idea of some of the hotel features:
• Seasonal heated swimming pool and year round spa.
• Local phone service is free.
• Free Wireless Internet.
• In-room coffee – a fresh drip-coffee machine is in each room.
• Complimentary continental breakfast.
• A 100% “Non-Smoking” facility.
• Each room has cable TV.
• All rooms have a private walk-out patio or balcony overlooking the marina and Admiralty Inlet.
• Elevator access to all three floors.
• Four wheelchair accommodations.
• Microwave oven, mini-fridge, and hair dryers in each room.
• A coin-op guest laundry is available for your convenience.
• Iron & ironing board in each room.

There will be a large paved illuminated parking lot for the trailers located about two blocks from the hotel. There is plenty of parking for our old cars in the hotel parking lot next to the lobby. Please call or drop me a note if you'd like more information.
