1925 Franklin 11A Sedan

Fully restored Franklin 11A with new frame built to factory specs using original drawings.  Engine has older restoration (1975) with connecting rods modified to take shell bearings rather than babbit.  Interior is in excellent shape but the clock and oil level indicator need repair.  The engine has suffered a rather severe failure with the #5 rod punching a hole in the block.  I have inspected the crank and other areas with a bore scope and did not see any damage.  Previous owner stated that the rod failed at start up one day so it had limited time to do damage as it was not running at the time of failure – just being cranked.  I purchased this car about a year ago with the intent of repairing the engine as the parts of the block dislodged by the rod were caught by the splash guards that were still attached to the engine.  Since that time I have had some serious health setbacks and the costs associated with that are rising and I am forced to sell her.  I have located two replacement engines if you want to stay original or you can do your own thing with a power plant of your choosing.  I liked the suicide doors due to their ease of entry and this model has that.  I am selling her for what I paid and feel this is a fair price given that I have seen piles of rust on a trailer for $5000.  Your opinion may vary and I am open to all offers.  That being said, I may have been born at night but I wasn’t born last night – if you get my drift.  I will entertain all serious offers but if you come across as scammy I will not reply.  If you are serious I will know by the questions you ask.  Please don’t waste my time or yours.  She is a great car in excellent condition for being 100 years old and deserves to be put back on the road for all to enjoy.  I look forward to hearing what you think and hopefully we can make a deal and she will have a new home soon.  More photos are available upon request. Thank you for you time.
