1926 Humber 9/20
1926 Humber in mostly original condition. This pre-war Humber, of Covington, England, is registered in the Humber Register The Humber Register Web Site as the only 9/20 in the United States. Pre-war Humbers are rare and different from the post war make that many are familiar with. The later Humber was a different company after Rootes bought them out. The clubs are split between the pre and post war incarnations. I have seen of other pre-war Humbers in the U.S., but none of this type. This is a rare two-seat roadster with dickie (rumble) seat. (My collection is British roadster cars). The car is an easy driver with all original matching engine (except for hoses, tyres, etc.). The paint is a lousy blue spray-over form the 1980’s. The upholstery is original leather and worn. I like that, but you should be aware that it is worn-through. The dickie seat was done in 1980’s vinyl.
Having gotten all the bad stuff out of the way, this is a stone reliable driver. I take it anywhere. It starts easily with a 12-volt electric starter and it has never failed. I have owned this car for years and enjoyed it at The Henry Ford Old Car event (where you always should/do drive the car during the show).
Parts and support or available via the club. I have had no things to replace, but the club with spares is there if needed.
I am selling to make room for an earlier make a model yet to be acquired. I am trying to move my collection to earlier teens and oughts car if I can find one.
