Dear AACA Family I am reluctantly selling my set of 28 X 3 inch-tired wood spoke wheels with clincher rims. Removed from an HCCA members 1916 fully restored Saxon. He put the Saxon body on a Model A Ford frame and these wheels and tires became available. Pair of barely used Universal 28 X 3 clincher tires. Excellent condition, excellent wood. I sold my Saxons and decided not to build a small teens speedster or cycle car, so I have no need for these. I haven’t seen a spare loose set of 28 x 3 rims in past 20 years. If you are building a 1900-1920 small car, speedster or cycle car, these are for you. The front pair of wheels have complete hub assemblies. One of them is not bolted on the rim but exact as the other front one. Tagged as a Saxon. The back pair have the front half of the hub assemblies bolted on the rim, but the prior owner kept the brake drums assemblies that bolted on the back of the rear pair of wheels. Both rear wheels have round axle holes with keyways for the rear axles. One needs to find another pair of drum brake shells to put on the back of the two rear rims or the back half of a similar wood wheel hub like possibly a Model T Ford. Price for everything shown is $2,000 plus shipping. Will UPS for costs or help find a shipper on www.uship.com an Ebay shipper company I use. Sorry no trades.
