Removing broken studs is a problem that can be made MUCH easier using heat, a candle, and a ‘easy out.’ Drill the stud if you can’t get ahold of it, heat around the stud area, and take a wax candle and touch the broken stud or bolt, the heat will suck the wax in around the threads, providing a excellent lubricant. Now use your ‘easy out,’ back the broken stud out. You will be amazed how well this works, I was taught this trick years ago by a 80 year old mechanic.
