Happy Labor Day!
Hershey is in 37 Days!
From a past AACA Speedster: “The Hershey Region AACA invites you to make the pilgrimage to antique car Mecca this October. Come join the more than 250,000 visitors who come each year to experience Hershey. The Hershey show is considered the largest antique car show and flea market in the world, boasting some 9,000 vendor spaces in its flea market, a car corral with 800+ antique cars for sale, and culminates in a great car show with about 1,000 vintage cars on display.” Oct 7-10, 2025. https://aaca.org for details.
Museum of the Horseless Carriage
I would like to highlight an interesting museum effort that is taking place in Michigan. That project is the creation of The Museum of the Horseless Carriage, as one of the Gilmore partner museums.
The actual beginning, was in 2019, when papers were filed to create a new, independent Michigan corporation, called the Museum of the Horseless Carriage Inc, and it has IRS 501( c)3 tax exempt status.
The HCCA applauds this effort to make a home for the Brass Era cars, with this significant anchor in the Mid-West region, the home of much of the American auto industry, from it’s earliest years to today.
The Horseless Carriage Club of America (HCCA), and The Museum of the Horseless Carriage (MHC), are two separate Brass Era organizations, that share a common passion for our Pre-1916 Brass Era cars.
HCCA Technical Advisors
From HCCA member Clark Adams: “I think it would be great if the HCCA was to create Technical Advisors. There are so many people in the club, across the world, who have very specialized knowledge of certain automobile makes and eras, as well as knowledge of what is correct or incorrect for these vehicles in terms of originality.”
The HCCA Affiliated Registers fulfill much of what would constitute a Technical Advisor, but perhaps the Club needs to make this a more formal role?
The Board wants to hear from you on this.
