1910 Sears Motor Buggy — Expertly Restored
ADMIN NOTE: Not an HCCA Member – Buyer Beware:
1910 Sears Motor Buggy, chassis #2419, expertly restored by an experienced antique automobile restorer. Offered for sale following the passing of my father and brother, both of whom were longtime antique automobile collectors and restorers.
Purchased by my father from brothers Carl and Verdon Rustine as a bare chassis accompanied by a genuine Sears Motor Buggy engine, springs, wheel hubs, front axle, and jackshaft. Whether the engine was originally paired with this chassis is unknown to me.
Features a beautifully handcrafted wooden body, folding top, and fully rebuilt 14-horsepower Sears offset engine with very limited running time. The vehicle was started and test-driven in 2025.
Historical Background: The Sears Motor Buggy was an early American high-wheel automobile sold through the Sears, Roebuck catalog beginning in 1909, featuring a two-cylinder air-cooled engine, friction transmission, and chain drive.
