1922 Studebaker Special Six Roadster
1922 Studebaker Special Six Model EL Two-Passenger Roadster – Rare Body Style
An exceptionally uncommon body style from Studebaker’s early six-cylinder era. The Special Six featured Studebaker’s 288.6-cu.-in. six-cylinder engine on a 119-inch wheelbase. While Special Six touring cars occasionally come to market, surviving two-passenger Roadsters are considerably more difficult to find. A 2017 Hemmings Classic Car feature on another 1922 Special Six Roadster described that example as one of only a very small number known at the time.
This automobile was part of the collection of longtime antique-car enthusiast Roger Allison of Fresno, California, who owned the car for many years. Roger was a 50-year member of both the Horseless Carriage Club of America and Antique Automobile Club of America, served on the HCCA national board, and was a former vice president of the Horseless Carriage Foundation.
The car presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a very unusual early Studebaker with an attractive two-seat open body and known enthusiast ownership history.
Located in Fresno, California.
