Century Plaque Program

(Program Founded 2003)

The Century Plaque program honors vehicles that have survived 100 years and it encourages owners of the historic vehicles to join the HCCA organization.

The Horseless Carriage Club Centennial Plaque program was conceived and designed to honor vehicles that have achieved the grand old age of one century. Though the plaque does not validate the authenticity of a vehicle, its purpose is to commemorate the 100-year milestone that the vehicle has achieved.

In the years since the program started, over 1,200 congratulation letters have been written to owners who document and share stories about their vehicles. Some of the stories have appeared in The HCCA Gazette. Based on the personal contacts, notes, letters and emails that have been received about the program over the years, the program has been an overwhelming success and continues to receive strong support each year.

Plaques have been sent around the world to honor cars in the countries of Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland and United States of America.

The plaques have been featured at birthday parties for automobiles and they have been used to encourage participation of older cars in tours.
This program is only one of the many ways that a person can support an organization that tries to protect history and automotive heritage.
