La Jolla/SoCal Joint Hattoween Tour
When: Friday, October 24th – Sunday, October 26th
Where: We will meet at Bobby Babcock’s Fallbrook ranch on Friday at 10:00 a.m. We will leave our rigs there and drive over the hill to Borrego Springs, staying at the Borrego Springs Resort. The 70-mile drive offers beautiful scenery, with a lunch stop on your own along the way.
Itinerary:
- Friday: Dinner on your own at the resort restaurant or in town.
- Saturday: We will have a short tour around Borrego Springs to see the sights, leaving time to enjoy the resort’s features, including two pools and a spa. We will meet in the Fireside Room, next to the bar, at 6:00 p.m. to see the Halloween costumes (which are encouraged!). Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with your choice of NY Strip Steak, Salmon Filet, or a vegetarian option.
- Sunday: We will return to Bobby’s, with an optional stop for brunch on the way.
Cost:
- Tour Cost: $65 for the car and driver, $50 for adult passengers. Children under 12 are free.
- Accommodations: Room rates have been negotiated with the resort. A single king-size bed room starts at $179 + tax per night, and a two queen-size bed room is $195 + tax. Suites are also available. Please make your own reservations by calling the resort at (760) 767-5740 and be sure to mention you are part of the “Horseless Carriage Club” group.
Vehicles:
- Cars are limited to pre-1916 vehicles for participants under 80 years old.
- Those over 80 can drive whatever they want.
- If you are unable to bring a pre-’16 car, you are welcome to drive a modern vehicle, but please stay behind the antiques.
