1937 Cadillac Series 70 Convertible Sedan

This 1937 Cadillac Series 7029 Convertible Sedan was a special-order car that included a Parade Package originally delivered to Drucker Cadillac in Trenton, NJ.  Although unverified, it is speculated that the car was purchased for government parade use, since Trenton is the New Jersey state capital.  The current owner acquired the car through an estate sale held in Punta Gorda, Florida in 1996 and has meticulously returned the car to factory-correct condition and elegance.

The Cadillac has a Fleetwood body, is #20 of approximately 40 built, and has a V-8, 3-speed manual transmission with floor-mounted shifter.  It has standard features which include cigar lighters, a  map light, footrests, rear courtesy lights, dual side mounts, full wheel covers, trim rings, a flexible steering wheel, and dual covered side mount spare tires.  It also has a Parade Package which features a rear tonneau folding windshield mounted behind the front seat, rear bumper step plates , front bumper flag mounts, and a convertible top with a removable back light.  A classic black exterior enhances a luxurious black leather interior while the tan fabric convertible top with red leather trim completes the elegant, but sporty look.

The wheelbase is 131 inches, and the overall length is 200 inches.  All trim pieces are present and correct, the top and upholstery and convertible top are in excellent condition, and the 1980 exterior paint shows very well.  The engine was professionally rebuilt in 2005, and its compartment is correct and presents well.  The only modifications that have been made are the addition of turn signals, a radiator overflow tank, battery cutoff, and an upgraded Pertronix ignition.   Recent maintenance includes brake service, a new Optima battery and professional, show worth detailing throughout the car.  This magnificent car runs well, drives well and rides effortlessly as a classic Cadillac should.
