1940 American Bantam Hollywood, AACA Junior National Winner at Hershey. Rare cabriolet designed by Sakhnoffsky and Tremulis. Previously of the New Jersey Antique Auto Museum prior to quite authentic 1980's restoration using many NOS factory parts. Car features original Super 4 three main bearing engine, hydraulic shocks, roll up windows, and disappearing top. Recently a battery from Jim's, Brillman wires, refreshed gas tank, fuel line, new hoses, and belt have been installed.
I have owned this car for the last 6 years and have enjoyed it greatly. This lovely Bantam runs, drives, and turns heads. This is perhaps the nicest and most authentic Bantam Hollywood that has been on the market in the last 10 years.

The Good:
- Engine rebuilt by Schwalms Babbitted Bearings
- Flat tube radiator by Brassworks
- Top by Classstique Upholstery
- New transmission drums by Dave Nolting
- Rocky Mountain Brakes
- Rebuilt differential complete with new axles
- Excellent original wood and sheet metal. Only dashboard has been replaced.
- Correct coil box, differential and front axle
- Wood in seat riser stamped April 1914.
- Engine casting date May 15, 1914
The Bad:
- 1915 rear fenders, apparently replaced a long time ago
- Demountable rims. While not original to 1914, it is a plus if you get a flat
- It's not black. But, in my opinion, this color looks better
- Magneto is weak. Runs fine on battery

Stanley 1911 Model 71
Click photo for MORE Photos
This car was reconstructed 8 years ago and has approximately 500 miles.
When assembling the car I tried to adhere to the original design and construction techniques. The new body is made of solid ash and polar, steam bent as original. I stuck with the original single fuel system, it burns regular gas.
I deviated in 4 places from original :
- Installed a custom [decent looking] boiler gauge.
- Used modern sealed and lube bearings on all wheels.
- Used modern roller bearings on the connecting rods/li>
- And, I installed fully adjustable and equalized brakes.
These are invisible.
Boiler is by Kelso, the top and upholstery are by Loren Burch. Tires are Universal 3 1/2 x 36 clincher.
There a 6 chime whisle.
I'm asking $135,000.
